EU Green Week 2025: Circular solutions for a competitive Europe - starts now!

Join the EU’s largest annual environmental conference to explore how Europe can shift to more circular and sustainable models.

Participation of Jessika Roswall, European Commissioner, to the Green Week LIFE awards ceremony 2025

EU Green Week 2025 begins in Brussels today. Over 800 people are expected to attend in person, with more joining online.

Policymakers, industry, NGOs, stakeholders and citizens will come together to explore how to enhance Europe’s competitiveness by embedding circular economy principles across all sectors.

Earlier this year, key initiatives such as the Competitiveness Compass and the Clean Industrial Deal provided guidance on how to make the most of the EU’s limited resources and reduce our dependence on third-country suppliers of raw materials.

At the same time, we can reduce waste and extend the life of materials through recycling, reuse, and sustainable production.

You can find the agenda using the link below, where all the sessions will be livestreamed.

Conference highlights

June 3 - Jessika Roswall, Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience, and a Competitive Circular Economy, will open the high-level discussions, sharing her vision for a circular economy that boosts EU competitiveness and economic security while conserving our natural resources. Panellists will discuss the circular economy as a driver of the EU’s strategic autonomy, the upcoming Circular Economy Act and international cooperation. The day will end with the LIFE Awards Ceremony – recognising the most innovative projects in circularity, climate action and nature protection.

June 4: The second day begins with the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform taking the stage, followed by discussions ranging from the bioeconomy to AI, industrial installations and restoring the water cycle.

June 5: Experts will discuss strategies for unlocking the circular economy’s full potential, aiming to make Europe more competitive and resource-efficient.

EU Green Week 2025 is organised in partnership with the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform and the European Circular Cities and Regions Initiative.

Speaking about the event, Commissioner Roswall said:

“Green Week will be an opportunity to address the systemic change we need to make the circular economy a reality on the ground and how to actually drive that change. We need a change of mindset. Not only among consumers, but for businesses as well.”
